Mother Of Three Resents Her Sister's Dog For Years Then Asks Her To Donate Its Stroller A Day After The Dog Passed Away
"You’ve been counting the days until that poor dog died so you can swoop in and take that stroller."

Dogs, cats, and pets in general make for great companions. They bring levity to our hectic lives that we cannot achieve from other sources.
They become constant staples in our daily routine and seamlessly fit into our schedules. Basically, our pets can become our closest family members.
This can especially be true for people who live alone. With no one else to share your home with, your pets will be the only witness to all the moments in your life.
This was the case for OP's older sister, Sasha, who adopted a dog right after college. OP is a 26-year-old mother of three while her sister is child-free.
OP admitted that they do not have a lot in common but they do love each other. OP said that Sasha treated her dog like it was her child.
She brought the dog with her when she went on road trips and even took it trick-or-treating during Halloween. OP was worried that Sasha was replacing human interaction with the companionship of her dog.
A year ago, Sasha brought a stroller for her now elderly dog. This was Sasha's way of taking her dog out on walks without making it difficult for it.
OP immediately looked online and saw that the stroller Sasha bought was priced at $400. In her opinion, this was an absurd amount of money to spend on a dog accessory but she couldn't help but notice that the stroller was suitable for dogs and children alike.
The inevitable happened and Sasha's dog died
u/RaspberryIcy4124OP was dreading this day as well because she knew it would devastate her sister
u/RaspberryIcy4124She felt for her sister's loss but her mind kept going back to the stroller
u/RaspberryIcy4124Since the dog is gone, OP felt bad that the stroller will now sit around unused
u/RaspberryIcy4124She thought that it would be perfect for her. This way, she can go jogging with her youngest kids and easily lose the post-pregnancy weight she has been struggling with.
u/RaspberryIcy4124OP called Sasha and expressed her sympathies for her loss. She also brought up the stroller and asked what Sasha planned to do with it.
Sasha said she will be donating the stroller to a shelter that houses dogs with disabilities. OP countered that her kids (and her) would be better recipients of the stroller which Sasha didn't take very well.
u/RaspberryIcy4124She called OP a vulture and other things. However, OP doesn't know if she was wrong for phrasing her question that way or if Sasha was overreacting because of her grief. What do you think?
u/RaspberryIcy4124OP list of transgressions is piling up but the worst offense is referring to her husband as "hubster," at least according to this Redditor
gleaming-the-cubicleOP used her kids needs to hide who really wants the stroller — her
SpeedBlitzXBased on the imaginary picture OP painted for us, it's obvious that her main concern was losing weight, it wasn't saving money or spending more time with her kids
Squirrel-mamaOP should have confidently said why she actually wanted the stroller instead of hiding behind her kids in the hopes of manipulating her grieving sister
Important_Tennis936It does look like that OP is envious of her sister's life which seems so full compared to OP's
Junior-Dingo-7764Sasha was right on the nose when she called OP a vulture
Fearless_Speech9883She also spoke of the dog like it was a thing the whole time instead of a being that her sister loved
AnotherRTFan, HeavyBeing0_0It is truly astounding how blind OP is to her own mistakes and selfishness
Trueloveis4uOP called her sister not to comfort her but to guilt her into giving up her late dog's stroller
fixinurshitThe green-eyed monster really took over OP's rational thought and turned her into this selfish, unfeeling person
fixinurshitOP resented the fact that she can't afford to buy the things that she wants while her sister is more than capable of buying everything her dog needed
SlothLordMcMarekatWe have a feeling that if OP waited a few days before asking for the dog's stroller, Sasha would have given it to her. Unfortunately for OP, her selfishness took over and she couldn't wait.
Now, she doesn't have the stroller and her relationship with her sister is damaged. We sincerely hope that Sasha is healing from her loss and that OP realized just how awful she dismissed her sister's grief.
