It's Impawsible Not To Obsess Over Moji The Scottish Fold

The Scottish Fold is already a peculiar breed of cat, so when you see Moji, who is pure white with complete heterochromia, you'll find it irresistible not to gaze with awe at her purrfect face.

She has the iconic Scottish Fold appearance, with her delightfully round face and folded ears, but her two incredible eyes and the stunning photos of her in general separate her from the rest!

Her Instagram account features muted white background that her snowy-white fur still manages to pop on, and most importantly always does a fabulous job of not only emphasizing those incredible multicolored eyes but displaying the enormous personality this adorable cat possesses.

Moji, Moji, Moji!

After following the precious puss on Instagram for awhile I knew she was precisely the sort of cat our fans would adore with full blown heart-eyes, so I reached out for a quick interview to learn a little more about her!

Moji is 3 years old, according to her human, and she's definitely living the good life!

According to Wikipedia, the Scottish Fold's unique, folded ear appearance is due to "a natural dominant-gene mutation that affects cartilage throughout the body, causing the ears to "fold", bending forward and down towards the front of the head, which gives the cat what is often described as an "owl-like" appearance."

I asked how Moji came into her life:

She flew to me from Russia, I met her on Schiphol, Amsterdam and it was love at first sight.

How cool is it that Moji traveled by airplane to meet her forever family?

"This is all I gotta say about tomorrow. #kiss #my #fluffbutt"

Her human also told us that for some reason, "people always think she is a boy..!"

The first ever Scottish Fold cat was a white barn cat named Susie, who was found in Scotland on a farm in 1961.

Out of Susie's kittens, only two had her peculiar folded ears and only one went on to breed more Scottish Folds, her name was Snooks.

Today all Scottish Folds can be traced to Susie and Snooks!

I asked Moji's family about Moji's play habits and interests, too:

Moji’s fav toy is her mouse toy with feathers called ‘Billy’

They added:

She plays fetch with her mouse Billy and she likes her liquid snacks like no other!

"Moji was born with Complete Heterochromia."

She also writes on Instagram:

There are three different types of heterochromia, each one being identified by the degree to which the heterochromia exists and how it manifests.

Heterochromia can be complete, where each eye is a complete different color from the other, and appropriately enough this is known as Complete Heterochromia. In partial heterochromia, a portion of the iris is a different color from the other. Heterochromia occurring in both eyes, is when the inner ring of the iris is a different color than the rest of it.

Scottish Folds are known to be affectionate cats who grow very attached to their humans.
