A young Supermarket worker named Harry Brown recently helped solve the kidnapping case of a little girl based 5000 miles away from him, all the way in the US.
Brown, 21, who works at a Sainsbury's in the United Kingdom used his online friendships, gaming skills, and some fantastic detective work to help find missing four-year-old Yvette Henley and return her to her worried grandparents.
Using some quick thinking, Brown gained the trust of Yvette's Kidnapper and found his exact location in order for the police to rescue her, all by using kindness and offering to buy him a pizza...
The Beginning...
Four-year-old Yvette had been staying in the care of her father, 28-year-old Virgil Henley when a court ruling handed over guardianship to her grandparents, Gary and Kim Forester. The court ruled for the grandparents to have guardianship due to Yvette suffering from "emotional damage" and being in possible danger. This ruling, however, was not heard by the girl's father, as he had already chosen to flee with her and his partner, and none of them were anywhere to be found.
The Search Widens.
After discovering that their grandchild was missing Gary and Kim contacted police who immediately started an investigation, though, after three weeks of searching, Yvette and her father were still missing. Desperate to find their grandchild Gary and Kim searched through Virgil's facebook page and decided to message Harry Brown, who had talked with Virgil briefly a few years before after starting an online friendship. They were hoping for anything that might give them information.
Along Came Brown!
Together the Forester's and Brown teamed up to find Yvette. Luckily Brown, being an avid online gamer and spending a lot of time on the internet anyway, agreed to message Virgil and gain his trust.

And it worked! After just two days of talking with Virgil, Harry managed to convince the man to let him order a pizza to his address so that they could eat. Virgil told Harry that him and his girlfriend Alyssa, also 28, had taken Yvette to Arizona where they were staying in cheap hotels or sleeping rough. Harry offered to buy a warm meal for them and get a pizza delivered to their room, and that was all it took to get the exact location and room number that the police needed.
Sorry, no pizza was turning up on that doorstep! Only the police.
Look at that smile!
Yvette was recovered from the hotel room safely and is now living back in California with her grandparents.
Harry said to The Mirror :
“I spend my life on the internet but little did I know that talking to random people would lead to me finding this little girl. She is loving where she is now. I cried so much when I saw the photos of her with her grandparents.
The police had been trying to find her since May and within two days I got his exact location. It’s a really weird set of circumstances that fell into place. Before, Yvette was probably living a nightmare."
“Now she is in the best place possible for her. She is having the happiest days of her life.”
