Man Praises Son Differently Than Daughter Because He Showed Signs Of Masculinity, Gets Termed A Misogynist By Daughter
"I wanted to foster his own identity as a boy separate from his twin sister"

Misogyny can take many different forms. It might be overt, like violence against women, or it can be covert, like subtly maintaining the gender pay gap.
For instance, a person with misogynistic attitudes can believe males when they say something while discounting or demeaning a woman who holds the same values. The original poster of today's AITA story was termed a misogynist by his 15-year-old daughter, and we're about to find out why.
The OP is the father of three kids, and the last two are twins. They are very close and have the tendency to copy each other.
The OP's son is not a very masculine kid and is less interested in some of his hobbies because of this. He has always preferred whatever his mother and older sister did, but the OP didn't complain.
Since the OP is at home almost all the time now, he has been seeing just how feminine his son's interests have gotten. The OP has been working out at home instead of at the gym because of their current circumstances.
His son came in while the OP was lifting weights in the family room, and he showed an interest in it. The OP was happy about it, but when the twin wanted to join, she didn't get as much encouragement as her brother did.
The OP's oldest kid got annoyed and asked why he was treating them differently. His explanation made the oldest accuse the OP of being misogynistic.

How about the OP show some interest in his hobbies

OP treated his son fine and treated his daughter poorly

There is nothing feminine about cooking foods

"The more you realize your mistakes, the more difficult it'll be"

The OP had to admit that he was wrong hence this edit...

He does feel bad about his actions

The OP promises not to make the same mistakes his grandpa did

As you can see, so many Redditors didn't even spare the OP as they unleashed their unadulterated opinions without batting an eye. In the end, the OP was declared the AH, and it's nice to see that he accepted he was and is trying to make amends.
