In 2011, Japanese 'organising consultant' and author, Marie Kondo wrote her now famous book, 'The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up'. The book took the world by storm, with people saying it completely revolutionised the way they cleaned and organised their homes. Others said it promoted a simple and minimalist lifestyle, making their home more zen like - a nod to Kondo's Japanese heritage. 2019 saw Netflix turn Kondo's book into an original series.
Each episode involved Kondo visiting homes of people who needed help organising their house. Kondo taught them how to organise, fold and store their belongings while also teaching them to be grateful for what they had and what each item had done for them.
Last week however, Netflix made a major blunder, promoting Kondo's 'Tidying Up', using an unrelated photo of what looks to be a soldier in combat. The internet erupted with hilarious reactions and commentary, after the major irony of the juxtaposed zen-like 4 foot 7 inch Kondo and soldier was too funny to ignore.
