Inconsiderate Manager Gets Fired After Telling The Employee Whose Son Was On Life Support To Either Report To Work Or Lose Her Job

Having a healthy work environment these days is a must for employees. It is one of the reasons why workers stay in a company because they feel that their employers are treating them well.

Between a high-paying job with a toxic work environment or an average-paying one with considerate bosses and very friendly workmates, there's a good chance that people will choose the latter. Not everything these days is about money, and that is something that companies are sometimes forgetting.

This Facebook post, which has since gone viral, was initially published by a mum who was upset with the answer she received from her manager when she informed her that she was going to be absent from work because of a devastating family issue.

Even though her child was currently in the hospital and also on life support, the management refused to acknowledge the situation in any way.

The manager called it additional "drama" and warned the mom that she would be fired if she didn't show up for work. The screenshots of the widely shared post on Facebook were uploaded to the r/antiwork community, where they quickly became one of the most popular topics of discussion on the active forum.

There are plenty more posts like this one about terrible superiors on the rapidly expanding sub. A number of commenters have located sources that claim the manager was terminated immediately after this post went viral for the first time.

This employee shared a conversation between her and her boss about her son's condition and that she would not be able to work.

However, the reply she got from her boss is unbelievably inconsiderate.

"That isn't how we do things, so I'll accept that you're quitting," her manager replied. The manager named Dawn, also added, "If you can't come to work, that's you quitting."

Even though her boss knows that her child is on life support, she does not seem to care and proceeds to tell her that she either reports to work or will be jobless.

"There is no reason you ca't work and I will not tolerate drama. End of conversation," the manager rudely replied to the distressed mother.

The boss even gave her a number to contact corporate and implies that her son's condition is not something that she needs to focus on.

"Your son is in the best place he can be. I have a store to run and that's my focus," the boss replied, ending their conversation.

It cannot be denied that there are undoubtedly inconsiderate and heartless bosses who only think about themselves. Fortunately, the post had reached the company and made necessary actions about this issue by firing the manager because of improperly handling the situation.
