This Man Refused To Give Up His Louis Vuitton Bag When He Was Held Up By An Armed Robber Because He 'Worked Hard' For It

There is no doubt that Louis Vuitton is an icon, and the bags are coveted by men and women alike all throughout the world. Once you have one, it's likely you'll do almost anything to protect it, especially with the price you pay for an item. Jerad Kluting, 31, from Michigan, experienced the incredibly terrifying moment when an armed robber approached him and demanded that he hand over his Louis Vuitton.

Kluting was out running errands and on his walk home, he saw a man approaching him and alarm bells set off. His instincts were correct, as the man covered his mouth with a bandana and proceeded to pull a gun out and pointed it at him point-blank. The robber then demanded that Kluting hand over his Louis Vuitton bag.

"I wasn’t about ready to relinquish it to some thug that was going to demand it from me... I paid $1,700 for it. I love Louis Vuitton," Kluting said. "I saw this bag long before I could buy it and I saved up to buy it. It represents me.”

Retailing for approximately $1,700, Kluting worked very hard to save up for the bag and refused to hand it over.

He said to the thief "You’re not getting my Louis Vuitton."

Kluting expressed to the robber how much the bag meant to him, but the gunman continued his demands, firing two shots next to Kluting to frighten him.

Kluting turned and ran, while the robber pursued him. He shot two more times at Kluting though luckily his gun jammed and he had to stop to reload it.

Fortunately, Kluting made it out unharmed. "I didn't have time to think — I just reacted," he recalled.

Kluting said it was not really about the bag: "Yes, I do love Louis Vuitton," he said, "but I wasn’t going to be intimidated by this bully." However, Kluting said that if it were to happen again, he'd give the Louis up.
