Every country has its own share of good and bad things that makes people stay or leave. For example, when individuals no longer see themselves becoming productive and happy with where they are, they decide to explore new places and find where they feel at home and contented.
Aside from this, marriage, work, education, and other opportunities in life are also some reasons why people move from their hometowns and settle down somewhere else. They might have left some family members, friends, and memories behind, but they surely have more valuable experiences in that new place, which made them decide to stay.
Like Aly, a TikToker with the username 'USA Mom in Germany' who shared the reasons why she never dreamed of returning to the U.S. after she got married to her German husband. She posted the video to respond to another TikToker named Brittney Ariane Vela, who asked other ex-pats why they decided to settle abroad for good instead of going back to the U.S.
With over 722K followers, Aly uses the platform to inform people about the differences between countries and share her real-life experiences. Although moving from Germany wasn't easy because of the language barrier, she loved so many things about the country, and one of them was the slower pace of life.
A TikTok user asked Americans about the reason why they decided to stay abroad rather than go back to the U.S.
TikTok/usa.mom.in.germanyAnother user responded to this and gave plenty reasons why she chose not to return to the U.S.
"The purpose of my TikTok account is not to slam, drag, or put down the USA. My videos are meant to combat U.S. propaganda that sells the USA as the best country in the world and, through this rhetoric, discourages a realistic view of other countries who often have social systems that function better for their people," Aly explained.

Aly's experience just shows the reality for everyone who chose to settle down in a foreign place. It doesn't mean that they hate their country when they decide to leave, but they just want a better life for themselves and their loved ones.
