Disney Fan Designs 'Lion King' Themed Ride For Magic Kingdom That All '90s Kids Need To See

The Magic Kingdom is full of animal themed rides, but surprisingly, no 'Lion King' ride exists! If you're anything like me, you're asking yourself, 'how can this possibly be?'

'The Lion King' was a HUGE film. It was also coincidently the first movie I ever saw in the cinema when I was 4 years old (1990 babies, where you at?)

The movie was massive and that banger soundtrack, epic. One viewing and it's VERY clear why the film received 2 Oscars and three Golden Globes - and yet... no ride in the Magic Kingdom???

As often happens, a Disney fan has decided to take matters into his own hands and design a Lion King themed ride himself... and it's epic. He goes by chadosaurus99 on Reddit and he shared his concept art for a Lion King themed ride with the entire internet recently.

The ride is based in Pride Rock:

chadosaurus99 also shared what Pride Rock would look like at night - You can imagine all the Magic Kingdom visitors enjoying this view after sunset

Guests would encounter the “Hakuna Matata” scene from the film floating past animatronics of Simba, Timon and Pumbaa.

The ride is designed like Splash Mountain with a water element:

Finally, chadosaurus99 shows the ride barreling out of the famous Elephant Graveyard - FREAKY!

Disney fans were ALL over the new concept!

"The fact The Lion King never had a ride is crazy. It was the biggest box office of any animated movie for nearly 2 decades and consistently sells merchandise since the film debuted. Its a shame."

"It surprises me too. And honestly, there’s a surprisingly huge lack of Tarzan at Animal Kingdom as well, considering it was part of the Disney Renaissance and is still one of their most popular animated movies!

This is actually something about WDW that drives me nuts in general, actually. Some movies get so much attention—and then other movies (such as Mulan, Tarzan, Pocahontas, and Hercules) get little-to-no merch or rides or attention at the parks whatsoever. It makes no sense and it seems so arbitrarily chosen, which movies get a lot of merch/rides/attention."
