Lilo & Stitch Is One Of Disney's Best Creations And These 22 Details Prove Why
"Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind."

It was 2002 when Disney released the first Lilo & Stitch movie. It has been 16 years since the third movie premiered all around the globe.
Instead of another princess movie, which has proven to be a sure money-maker for the media giant, Disney creatives came up with an original concept for Lilo & Stitch. The loveable experiment 626 and his best buddy, Lilo proved to be one of Disney's best stories to date.
It's been two decades since we first met Lilo & Stitch so allow us to refresh your memories a little bit. In the movie, we are introduced to a Hawaiian girl named Lilo and her badass sister, Nani who is also raising her after their parents tragically died in a car accident.
Experiment 626, crashes on Earth and hides from the Galactic Federation. After being bullied by her classmates, Nani allowed Lilo to adopt a dog and takes her to a shelter.
Experiment 626 was at the shelter pretending to be a dog in order to hide from Jumba and Pleakley. Lilo adopted 626 and renamed him, Stitch.
Stitch was just using Lilo to hide from the Federation but they eventually form a bond and become a family. Little by little, through his ohana, Stitch fights his genetic instinct to cause chaos to stay with Lilo.
That's the general theme of Lilo & Stitch but some cunning Disney fans found seemingly innocent details that make the story even better. Read the interesting tidbits below before the release of the new Lilo & Stitch live-action movie in 2023!

Frozen gets a lot of praise for highlighting sisterly love instead of the typical romantic love. Yes, Frozen is great and the songs are bangers but Lilo & Stitch deserves the same credit.
We can actually argue that Lilo & Stitch highlighted, albeit more subtly, the love and bond between family and sisters. The best way to celebrate the two decades since Lilo & Sitch's last release is to rewatch all of the movies (and the series, of course)!
