Growing up, we have always wanted a place free from any other responsibilities, where we can just be ourselves and dive into whatever makes our hearts beat. For most people, that place is the library—a safe haven for anyone who seeks knowledge, comfort, or just a place to stay in for a while.
No matter how many bold and tall edifices surround us, there is truly no other place that exudes the same vibes and comfort as a library. Introverts, most especially, have found a second home between the shelves, and not only books, but the place itself has become a safe haven for people—both young and old, rich and poor.
Libraries are a great place to just take a break from the responsibilities of the outside world; or if you just want somewhere to chill and read a book, or just do all your assignments and paperwork in peace. It's like an open club for you to just do your business without the necessary interactions, which is a great thing especially if you do not particularly like talking with others.
However, the people who come to the library are generally good people, so sometimes, even the introverts get a surge of social skills when they meet someone with the same interests and principles there. As Lemony Snicket said, "Well-read people are less likely to be evil."
Moving on, a librarian in Atlanta shared a story on Twitter, when a confused woman spouted the words "The library is a safe place" despite being lost.
She had developmental disabilities and seeked refuge in the library.

cheryl_boucherIn the age of technology, libraries are a place where we can just disconnect from the Internet and just stay there collecting our thoughts and just plainly focusing on ourselves and the magical worlds in books that surround us. Not a lot of people truly know how it feels to be in the safe arms of a building full of books and if you are one of them, you should try visiting one!
