Ready for some teenage drama? It's just what you need to get your mind off some serious life problems.
OP has been the butt of the jokes in the friend group for some time now, to the point of being asked to bark on calls and go by various nicknames. OP recently realized they don't enjoy being in this role, so they sat down with the group to have a heart-to-heart on New Year's.
While the group has tried to consider OP's feelings, they still make jokes that unintentionally hurt OP. This and the incident of one of the friends lying to OP has led OP to decide that they're done with the group.
Without explanation, OP blocked their friends on social media, which led to the question of whether OP was in the wrong for leaving suddenly. OP felt that their (ex) best friend should have known how they were feeling about everything, even without them mentioning it.

RedditFriend groups can be complex and ever-changing, with each person playing a unique role in the group's dynamics. It is up to us to decide if we will conform to the group's dynamics or leave. We may choose to join in and become an active participants in the group's activities, or we may decide to remain on the periphery, content to observe from a distance.
OP made his choice. Good or bad - time will tell.
