Two kittens named Carl and Lenny are cute little furballs. Just like other kitties, they're lively and curious.
All thanks to the woman who rescued these two kitties, they were given the chance to explore the world. They were found with two other kittens in a litter, but their mom wasn't there.
It was quite warm when they were rescued in Austin, Texas. But a horrible storm raged through the state, rendering these 10-day old kittens alone and freezing in the cold.
Megyn of the Kitten Konnoisseur took the two little ones into foster care after they were saved by the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter rescuers. She noticed something common between the cats when she began weighing them.
Each had dried blood on their heads. One had rear paralysis. One already had breathing issues. All were emaciated and weak.
The kittens were so close to death, even the thermometer couldn't read their temperatures. They were in critical condition and sadly, two of the four kittens passed away.
One female kitten was paralyzed and didn't make it moments after the rescue. The other girl kitten had severe breathing difficulties and died while Megyn carried her in her hands.
It was truly unfortunate that only two kittens survived the dire situation. But Megyn did not give up.
Within an hour I went from hopeful to heartbroken. But I kept fighting.
Carl and Lenny. Aren't they cute?
@kittenkonnoisseur/InstagramBecause of Megyn's resolve, she has saved so many cats who eventually became healthy and found their forever homes.
The two kittens were recovering from the exposure to the cold. But their life journey was just beginning.
@kittenkonnoisseur/InstagramCarl and Lenny required tube feeding at first because they couldn't manage to latch onto a nipple due to their weakness.
Eventually, Carl managed to latch onto one and his growth spurt came at a speedy pace. Lenny, on the other hand, was still smaller than his sibling.
The two kittens realized that fingers make good pacifiers. Their teeth felt like small needles, but Megyn didn't mind.
Whatever it takes to make them happy!
@kittenkonnoisseur/InstagramThe kittens are growing and finally showing some purrsonality.
Carl was the one who pushed me to fight so hard as he immediately purred the minute he was touched. He’s always had a calm, sweet way about him.

Since they've grown bigger, it's time for them to learn about eating real food. Lenny liked it so much, he decided to ditch the bottle.
Lenny has always been the goofball and is as cuddly as can be. He has a habit of quickly falling asleep mid-play when he’s playing on his back.
@kittenkonnoisseur/InstagramThe two brothers are the best of friends.
Megyn constantly finds them cuddling with each other. Lenny is especially fond of wrapping his arms around his brother every time the two furballs nap.
@kittenkonnoisseur/InstagramA new friend arrives. Together, they are the BRO SQUAD.
@kittenkonnoisseur/InstagramTheir new friend is an older cat who's showing them the feline's way of life.
Oliver is a sweet cat who's been with Megyn for his own recovery. He has neurological injuries and fractures.
The big cat was shy at first. But the kittens get attached to him immediately.
According to Megyn, Oliver wants to be around the kitties to snuggle with them or be the leader of their play. In return, the kittens adore him and they're always looking forward to hanging out with him.
I’m grateful he’s found company in these two goofy boys.
