Formerly, Karen was simply another common name, but it has recently come to be associated with arrogance and entitlement, so it can be hurtful if someone calls you out on it. You most likely already know the answer to this - What is a Karen? - unless you've been living under a rock.

But just in case you didn't know, "Karen" is the less than flattering nickname for a middle-aged woman who constantly gripes and acts in an entitled manner, such as insisting on speaking with the manager or demanding stuff they feel it's theirs. Karens have been the subject of regrettable international news in recent years.

The Karen in today's story complained about Starbucks and the free treats that they reduced. For some businesses, providing complimentary items is frequently a more viable long-term strategy than offering percentage discounts or fixed price reductions.

Discounts detract from the perceived value of your goods and services, but complimentary gifts encourage patrons to try new dishes, recommend the restaurant to others, and come in more frequently. This must be why Starbucks gave out free puppaccino but this Karen felt she deserved more because her dog is big.

Whipped cream and sugar for dogs. Cool... People are getting more crazier for their pets. They treat them "better" then any children.

And yet it is bordering on animal abuse, since they insist on treating pets like a tiny humans instead of an animal. No wonder there are so many rescue dogs that are psychological broken, because the owner kept overloading the poor animal's brain with their highly emotional unstable crap.
