Entitlement is one trait that sometimes rears its ugly head in the most unexpected places. It's something we've all encountered at some point – dealing with individuals who believe they have a right to anything and everything.

The question is: How do we navigate encounters with such individuals without descending into needless drama? Our narrator (OP) seems to have an answer to this burning question.

One seemingly ordinary day, OP boarded a train to meet up with some friends at the pub. He settled into his seat with no inkling of how dramatic this journey would turn out.

Seated beside him was a curious little girl, and opposite, her mother—a character who would soon earn the well-deserved tag of the infamous "Karen."

About ten minutes in, OP decided to pass the time with his Nintendo Switch. Immediately, the young girl's eyes sparkled with curiosity, after which she asked if she could join in the fun.

OP saw no harm in this, so he handed over the device after seeking approval from her mother. As OP’s stop neared, he broke the sad news to the young gamer that it was time to round up the fun.

The little girl returned the Nintendo Switch with a radiant smile and heartfelt thanks. But her mom wasn't too pleased about this development.

Rather than accept that it was time to give up the game, she demanded that OP hand the game back to her daughter, not even for a few minutes, but permanently!

OP declined and politely reminded her of his impending stop. At this point, the entitled mom started throwing tantrums and even berated OP, "a grown adult," for holding on to a "children's toy."

OP was stunned by the outburst and swiftly grabbed his bag to get off the train. But just before stepping off, he commended the girl for being a sweet soul and urged her never to follow in the footsteps of her uncouth mother.
