We all know how awkward things can get when a partner's ex resurfaces. Jealousy comes into play, which is entirely to be expected, but when does it become unreasonable?

Well, one Reddit user recently shared a story about this topic on the AITA (Am I The A**hole?) subreddit. The woman explained that she and her boyfriend have been together for about nine months, so it's still a fairly new relationship.
The Redditor says that about a month ago, her boyfriend's ex made contact with him unexpectedly. The ex wanted to let him know that the dog they had shared was very unwell and may need to be put to sleep.
A week or so after that, the ex showed up at OP's boyfriend's work with the dog. She was going to put the dog to sleep that afternoon and wanted to let her ex say his goodbyes.
OP's boyfriend explained that he went outside and spent some time with the dog, and later that day his ex texted him saying she was concerned about how thin he looked. She then started sending him some videos of the dog.
Well, OP was not happy about this exchange in the slightest. She says she thought the ex and the dog were "ancient history," and there was no reason for them to be in contact.
When OP confronted her boyfriend about it, he said she was overreacting and that his ex has a new partner so there was no reason for her to be jealous. The Reddit user says the ex hasn't contacted her boyfriend again since, but she is struggling to trust him after he spoke with her.
OP says she thinks it's weird that the ex would bring the dog to say goodbye since "they are not kids." Keep scrolling to see how people reacted.

Here's how people reacted.
YTA!
"It's long past time to grow up."
It sounds reasonable.
"Let the man say goodbye."
"Get over yourself."
"You will be single soon."
Obviously not a dog person.
"She was actually being very respectful."
It's concerning.
"Let him say his goodbyes."
He wasn't "screwing her."
"Start supporting him."
"This is ridiculous."
"It's closure."
"You monster!"
"Stop reading so much into it."
"You shouldn't be so insecure."
"You don't have to understand the situation to give sympathy."
That's not how it works.
What's your take on this situation? Do you think the OP is overreacting, or is it perfectly understandable that she would feel the way she does?
It's hard enough to lose a beloved pet. Surely it's acceptable for her boyfriend to say goodbye to his dog.
