Woman Wants To Know If They Are Wrong For "Interrupting" Their Partner While They Speak

Welcome back to another lovely Reddit post from the AITA thread that we all love so much. We're here to go over yet another post that has caused a bit of debate in the comments, and it seems like OP's issue is actually common among other people.

It was a very interesting post because it sparked a lot of interest in the comments, and many people had different perspectives on this, just like OP described in their post. Essentially, this person came to Reddi because her husband told her that she's rude for interrupting him whenever she jumps into kind of elaborating on the story or finishing his sentence.

A lot of people were on either side or said that they do one or the other. OP wondered if maybe it was something that was common in conversation within some cultures and not others. OP thought of it as a good thing and that she was adding to the conversation, but OP's husband and many commenters thought that this was rude.

I know of a lot of people that do talk this way and it seems like people in the comments think so too.

I mean it does add to the conversation though and makes you feel a little bit more involved.

But this is where things got feisty and the issue was brought to light between the two.

OP gives us full insight into their conversation and how it played out, as well as what her partner said.

Now this could definitely turn into a conflict and it definitely clearly is a conflict for their partner.

We feel bad that OP felt like this and maybe her partner should have said things a bit differently.

A conversation realistically is only good if both parties are enjoying it and in this case, they weren't.

Generally, we think people are going to say yes to stay quiet and let the person finish what they're saying first.

Many people did not hold back in the comments and they let OP know that she was TA here and should not interrupt people.

OP needs to definitely think about how she felt whenever her partner told her this because that's exactly how her partner feels when she interrupts them.

It's important not to say everything that pops into your head because not everything needs to be shared withe everyone.

This comment is gold because it really gave a lot of sympathy to OP while also giving her the other side of things and explaining how it really feels.

There were different opinions here but a lot of people did have a lot ot say and it seems like it's a difference in how people are taught to conversate. I don't think that OP is being intentionally rude but maybe this is a way to open her eyes to see the way her partner is seeing.
