Truck Owner Decides To Start Charging Influencers Double The Price Since They Ask To Pay With 'Exposure'
Great decision!

Social media influencers have gotten used to getting paid to promote products and services and they manage to make a lot of money that way.
They've gotten so used to getting free stuff that they started attempting to pay for a lot of things with 'exposure', which is pretty much their favorite currency.
Giving a business 'exposure' means that they will promote that business on their social media accounts, it's a great advertising method that a lot of people use, but it still doesn't mean that everyone wants to get free promotion, some businesses want actual money.
Los Angeles ice cream truck owner, Joe Nicchi, is basically fed up with these influencers and he recently decided to publicly expose them. They are constantly hitting him up and asking for free stuff and in return, they are offering him 'exposure'.
Here's his original post:
“Last Thursday, I got an event request to do a party on a weekend for 300 people in exchange for the word they love to use, which is ‘exposure.’ I can’t do that; I can’t work for free.” he told Vice
Back in 2014, Nicci originally started his company in order to generate some side income while he worked as an actor. He roams the streets of LA with a 1960s Mister Softee truck with a simple menu consisted of chocolate, vanilla, or a twist cone. Nicci started to get sick and tired of these so-called influencers constantly asking for free food and as a small business owner, he had to put a stop to it.

“The first 30 seconds of talking, they say ‘Hey, I don’t know if you follow me or not,’ so they tell me their screen name and say ‘If you want to hook me up with a cone, I’ll post it to my story. I’m like are you out of your mind? This is a $4 ice cream.”
“We work a lot of these [food truck] events on the weekends, and I’m not going to sound like a douchebag, but we have really long lines. It’s evident that we’re a popular business, but I’ve had many young Millennials who say things like ‘I’m surprised that you only have 5,000 followers.’ What does it matter? I have a line down the street. If Instagram went away tomorrow, I would still exist.”
