This Indiana Shelter Hits A Milestone By Adopting Out All Their Animals

It has never been a happier time for the staff and volunteers at the Harrison County Animal Control Shelter located in Indiana. Why? Well for the first time in their entire period of operation they have no animals waiting to be adopted. That's right!

After 13 years the shelter is completely empty of tiny paws or barks or meows because every furry friend has found a home. The shelter announced the great news to everyone that follows their Facebook page to great reactions (obviously) and it seems that the silence has never been so sweet!

Check out all those empty cages!

They're totally empty!

And the news has gone totally viral! Over 1,000 people have shared the post on Facebook and more have joined in the celebration on Reddit.

And the shelter says that the participation of people on social media is a big part of why the shelter is now empty.

Yay for social media!

"We attribute our adoption success to the social media community," shelter office manager Amber Brewer said in an interview.Yay for social media!Facebook

The shelter uses social media to post about new animals that are up for adoption or those they've found that might be lost, and when people share these posts around it helps many more people see the adorable animals and help them find their way to where they belong.

"Their posts on social media are instrumental in maximizing the visibility of every animal, from those available for adoption to stray animals getting reunited with their families," Brewer said. "They truly make a huge difference."
