We're back again with another popular Reddit post that was posted on the AITA thread. These posts are a great place to get unbiased opinions and advice on the situation that you're going through.
We see all types of posts on here about relationships, animals, neighbors, life advice, and other crazy situations that people need opinions and advice on. We often like covering these because they get a lot of attention and let us see different perspectives from people on the situation.
If you like hearing about stories like this and are intrigued by the title, then keep on reading. We're going to dive into a story today about a dad who calls out his wife's friend for being pretty weird and inappropriate with his son.
We're happy to see this dad call out this woman for her behavior because if the roles were switched, it definitely would have been a bigger deal to the wife. Ultimately, this is an odd situation, and we would have said something too, so we don't blame the dad.
However, let's see what really happened and what people had to say about the whole situation, and whether or not the dad is wrong for calling out his wife's friend.
OP starts off his post with saying that they had a family get together and explains a bit more on what happened.
throwDad224He gives more detail on what exactly the friend was saying and how his son was reacting to it.
throwDad224He says that she got upset and went to the bathroom crying and his wife wasn't too happy with him.
throwDad224He explained his feelings on the situation and told his wife of the double standard.
throwDad224Ultimately he could've said things that were much worse, but he did the right thing by calling her out.
throwDad224We feel as though he had a huge right to be upset and we would be too.
throwDad224This comment said that OP was NTA and that they wouldn't allow that person near their son again.
TheRealBillSteeleSome people are saying ESH because of OP's response to her saying that she's ugly.
jednorogThe harassment is definitely worse and any response like OP's is acceptable in response to the situation that was happening.
quillsandquestionsHere is another comment saying that ESH because of his comment and obviously her harassment.
kgrimmburnSome people even commented on how his wife didn't seemed concerned with the situation and was mad at him.
takennodeuxUltimately this behavior is not acceptable no matter what gender and his wife is being sexist.
Pac_MineWe love a great straightforward comment and this one we agree with for sure.
DELAIZI feel like ths shock factor of OP's response to her is what makes her realize she's wrong and being called out. So the ugly may have been necessary.
silot439012We feel like this dad did the right thing when it came to standing up for his son and getting him out of an awkward situation. Although the comments were split between NTA and ESH, we feel as though no response is necessarily good, but we just are glad he stuck up for his son.
