Adorable Cat Named Ikiru Is Formally The Uncrowned King Of Bleps

This exotic shorthair kitty has over 45k followers on Instagram, and it’s easy to see why.

When Rich and Emma from Yorkshire, England, first saw Ikiru's photo on a cat breeder's website, they immediately fell in love with the unique cat. After their first visit, they were confident he was the right cat for them, and four weeks later, they brought the kitty to their home.

After a while, they created an Instagram account to record Ikiru's daily life, and since then, the silly cat has come to be a real celebrity. It is no wonder, because Ikiru is the king of bleps, and some of the facial expressions the cat makes are so silly, people often ask his owners if the cat is all right.

"Ikiru is really healthy, and our vet told us he has some of the best teeth she has ever seen," Rich and Emma explained. "Exotic shorthairs have a slightly pudgy face, but he's very energetic and in great shape.

Believe it or not, the cat doesn't always have his tongue hanging out, but it seems to be a quirk of his, leading to some amusing facial expressions."

The cat is named after one of his owner's favorite movies, and "Ikiru'" means "to live" or "living" in Japanese. "He's loving, affectionate, and grumpy in the best way. Ikiru is also playful and endlessly amusing. One particular quirk is he loves tunneling and hiding underneath things like blankets or sheets of paper, or staring at you upside down from the corner of a room."

Rich and Emma say that Ikiru is constantly making them laugh with his escapades and facial expressions, and they are thrilled to be able to share him with other people via social media. "We get messages from all around the world, saying his silly faces, cuteness, and personality brightens their day. He even inspires fan art; people have some fantastic illustrations which really capture his cheeky character."
