It's likely that you've heard of the "Karen" term, especially if you use the internet. This once-popular term went on to become one of the most widespread memes on the internet.

According to Google Trends, there was a significant increase in searches for this term years ago. A person can typically find a post about someone being a "Karen" on the internet every single day because of the increase in viral videos, tweets, and blogs.

A middle-aged white woman (though this can vary) who is entitled, demanding, and typically racist is referred to as a "Karen" because she leverages her privilege at the expense of other people, primarily people of color and service workers. Although this term initially denoted discriminatory or racist behavior, it is often used to describe any kind of conservative woman who is imposing her will on other people.

The OP and his wife are pregnant with their second child. Their first child was a boy, and they named him after OP's uncle.

OP's uncle is like a father to him because his real dad was in and out of jail his whole childhood. The OP found out that their second baby will be a girl, and his wife wants to name the new baby after her mom.

Well, the problem is that her mom’s name was Karen, and the OP doesn’t want to do this to his baby girl because of all the horrible stereotypes and jokes about this name. Still, his wife wanted the name, so what's going to happen?

Some Redditors doubt OP's spouse is aware of how popular the joke about Karen is and they would not back down from this. No child should have to go with a name that everyone finds joke worthy and people will laugh or make a joke about it when she grows up.

That is not what the OP desires, nor is it what your wife or daughter wants in the slightest but some Redditors believed the OP is the AH.
