Redditor Hides Baby Food From Her Young Niece Who Keeps Trying To Eat It For Gratification

Now this definitely is something I think most of us would do in this situation.

Redditor Hides Baby Food From Her Young Niece Who Keeps Trying To Eat It For Gratification

Welcome back to yet another Reddit post. Today, we'll be looking into the AITA thread, which we love.

This thread always has interesting stories, and there's almost always something interesting going on here, which is why we keep coming back to show you the best of these posts. This thread is the perfect place to find out if you're in the wrong for something you did or said in a situation.

Most of the time, when we look into these, there are a lot of awesome comments giving their opinions or advice to the person who posted. With this being said, we are looking at a post today that was submitted by a woman who wants to know if she's in the wrong for hiding her baby food from her six-year-old niece because she's been eating everyone's food.

This is definitely a boundary that we would want to enforce, and it's weird that the niece's parents aren't stepping up. OP took matters into her own hands but now wants to know if she's in the wrong or not for it which is exactly why she is here to ask for advice on this thread.

So, if you're interested, then let's take a look at the full post and all of the best comments on it as well to see what people had to say about her situation.

OP started off her post with talking about their living situation and how she lives with her relatives.

This is when she gets into describing her niece and how she's been eating quite literally everything in the home. This isn't exactly uncommon for children though.

This is exactly what we would say too and honestly in this situation that's the only thing that matters. It's her house and her food, so that's all that matters here.

Not OP's fault at all and it seems like pretty much everyone in the comments agrees with that as well.

This could be a good idea but clearly it backfired on them anyway and now the child is out of line.

I would definitely have a conversation with them because this is not okay and they have to know that.

The SIL here is pretty inconsiderate and maybe things need ot be put more in perspective for her because this is a little ridiculous.

They are definitely the ones causing the main problem here so someone really needs to talk to the parents honestly

I would keep the food separate either way honestly to avoid something like this happening again.

thei neice shouldn't be shamed especially because it's just how children are when they grow up and almost everyone has probably been through this stage.

We definitely feel like OP is not in the wrong here because she didn't do anything technically wrong. We would totally keep the floor out of reach as well especially if the SIL isn't replacing anything that their daughter is eating.

It's just being inconsiderate honestly.
