The cat, Benny, is a unique kid with a strong will for life and the strength to cuddle. What's more, he's searching for his permanent home.
Prior to meeting him, you may have viewed this great feline as someone who you could count as a loved one! Benny endured an endless series of horrendous experiences, and that showed his strength as well as the commitment of the Feral Cat Coalition and its workers.
When Benny left the streets of San Diego, California, and showed up at FCC, he required an eye and around 50% of his teeth removed. As a feral little one, Benny was ear-tipped and also neutered.
His medical surgery went fine, but still, the next morning brought an awful situation. The FCC staff found Benny bleeding freely from each of the three sites where surgery was performed.
He was then rushed to the vet, but the bleeding did not stop. The vet became worried that Benny could have hemophilia, which is a condition where there is no clotting of blood, and it is viewed as rare in cats.
If he was not a hemophiliac, there was another worry that he could have been a victim of rat poison, which can likewise cause too much bleeding. That very night, Benny remained with the clinical supervisor of FCC, and she worried that the sweet cat wouldn't survive the night.
Meet Benny, the fighter...
InstagramDespite feeling so awful, Benny actually gave love and thanks to his host, and they did the same in return. In any case, it was a challenging journey as Benny’s condition got worse in the days following his medical surgery.

InstagramHis eye socket, mouth, and the neuter site were still bleeding openly. Even though frozen plasma treatments, pressure gauze, and emergency and topmost care were given to Benny, he continued bleeding and, at the same time, getting weaker as the days passed.
Blood tests revealed that Benny had not been poisoned but that he was actually a hemophiliac.
But now, he's doing better
InstagramThis unfortunate poor cat suffered a lot and was on the verge of dying, but after a few days of trying to stabilize him, the bleeding at long last slowed down and, finally, stopped. Then, another concern had set in—with all the loss of blood, the clinical staff feared that Benny could have suffered brain damage.
They could now assist Benny with putting on weight
InstagramBenny had already developed a delicate response to sounds and being moved. On top of all these neurological worries, Benny also needed to repair his eye removal site after the stitches opened up due to the bleeding.
Such a cutie...
“Through all of this, he was still very sweet, nudging, making biscuits and cooing at us,” said the FCC.
InstagramKnowing the dangers of medical surgery with his hemophilia, everybody held their breath for the result. Yet, as he does with all the other things, Benny fought a good fight!
Benny and his foster family
“Although we had so much hope, we never anticipated Benny doing this well,” his foster family shared.
InstagramThe FCC staff and volunteers worked with Anna Brown from San Diego's Cat Adoption Service, and they were all around the sweet cat. Soon enough, he was getting up on his paws once more, liberated from any neurological harm.
Benny got a good ending
InstagramThey could now assist Benny with putting on weight and kicking a kitten cold. On the other hand, Benny showed that although he'd been a cat in the street, he was loaded with love and would appreciate having a permanent home to settle down in one day.
Benny is home now!
Benny spent time in foster care, and he showed that he was prepared to give up his outdoor days just to get a family to cuddle with!

To assist him with getting a permanent place to live, Benny concluded he would love to have an Instagram page, so the foster and FCC made it happen. They've also shared the best news on that page:
