To be a successful artist, it is an advantage to study at a prestigious school. This is where the artists themselves are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills that they can apply to every masterpiece that they create.
However, it is not that easy to get into your dream school, especially if you are an artist. The probability of receiving a rejection letter is so great that even the most talented people are not exempt from it.
This rejection might lead others to get discouraged from achieving their dreams as artists. Those who have lost their hope tend to choose another career path that they think is reachable for them.
On the other hand, some people use this rejection as a challenge to do better and continue working hard for their dreams. This is what happened to Jonas Jödicke, a Berlin-based artist who did not let the heartless rejection letter from the Berlin University of Arts, where he applied, get in his way of becoming the artist that he is today.
Jonas has posted his experience to motivate other artists to continue their passion even if art schools do not see their creations as "art". In addition, he called out the art school that gave the rejection letter to let them know how insensitive their letter was to people who were striving to pursue a career in the arts.

He was enraged after finding out that it was not only him and his sister who had received the same rejection letter but many other people who also did not get into the art school.

Jonas proved that whenever a door of opportunity closes for you, another one opens. You just have to find the right people and place who would value your talent.
Also, this video reminds art schools to be considerate in their letters, rejecting people without making them feel less talented. As Jonas said, "diversity is what makes life interesting - and it should be no different with art."
