Almost all of us hope to end up with someone who would always be supportive of everything we do, from our hobbies and interests up to the big decisions we make in our careers. It is absolutely essential to have an unconditionally supportive and understanding partner in order for us to be able to grow as individuals and together as a pair.

But even so, boundaries are still important in a relationship—along with the other things we need to thoroughly communicate with our partner before jumping on the decision of tying the knot together. Many people realize that they are stuck with douchebags only after they got wed, but there are a few ones who managed to escape that close trap to hellhole because they were able to see pass through the red flags at just the engagement stage.

We most certainly hope that's what happened with this particular Reddit user named u/Content_Profession63, who asked for some advice regarding a sticky situation she has with her 37-year-old fiancé. Going back to the whole supportive partner deal, she shared that she got into an argument with her husband for ruining his career—and no, before you start to judge, he did say some pretty questionable things that are waving the reddest of flags in the first place.

OP posted her problem under the r/AITA subcommunity. The post has gathered almost 25K upvotes and over a thousand comments.

She and her fiancé have been living together for 6 months—with the man deciding to ditch his job just a month after moving in because he wanted to try having a Twitch streaming career. This is where the whole deal about being a supportive partner enters the picture—but yep, like all of us, OP found something rather odd with that.

And well, his plans for building a Twitch channel didn't really happen because it's been 7 months and he still hasn't even made an account. Despite that fact, he says he still needs time—somehow oblivious that his partner has been sustaining them alone for months now using her online business.

But then, he wants to buy a house, and being the practical woman that OP is, she proceeded to tell him the consequences for doing so. She also points out that he doesn't have a job yet—which he countered by saying if only OP had a real job then they wouldn't be even having problems with money matters. Yeah, we know.

Now he's been demanding for a gaming laptop for his "career" and OP pettily told him that her fake job doesn't cover that. The fiancé threw a fit and flat out told her she's selfish and is out to ruin his career.

There's no question about being unconditionally supportive to your partner about the things that matter most to them, but if it's already affecting your lifestyle and they're turning out to be lazy asses, then that's the time you need to put your foot down. We truly hope that this man comes to his senses—or OP should just flat out leave him for slobbishness!
