Grant Hughes Seeks $300,000 Release From Judge, Despite Prenup With Sophia Bush

Sophia Bush and Grant Hughes are currently embroiled in a legal dispute over their divorce assets, and it appears that they have differing views on the terms of their prenuptial agreement.

Hughes, aged 41, recently submitted a request to the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles, seeking the removal of the mutual and temporary restraining order. This request, as per documents obtained by Us Weekly, was made for Hughes to access $300,000 for real estate investments.

It's important to note that this money is currently held within the boundaries of the prenuptial agreement between the estranged couple. In his January filing, Hughes' legal team argued that utilizing the funds for investments in Oklahoma storage facilities would not affect the potential payout as dictated by their prenuptial agreement, should the court decide to uphold it.

The court did accept Hughes' request for the funds, as confirmed by the documents. Back in August 2023, Us Weekly reported that Sophia Bush had filed for divorce from Grant Hughes after just 13 months of marriage.

According to court documents obtained by Us, the date of separation was listed as June 27, 2023, which occurred just 16 days after their first wedding anniversary.

At that moment, neither Bush nor Hughes had requested spousal support. In August 2023, an insider shared exclusively with Us that the ex-couples were aiming to maintain an amicable relationship while they worked through their divorce proceedings.

“It wasn’t ugly, and they are still supporting each other. They want each other to be happy and for their nonprofit to continue to thrive.”, the insider said.

The actress and Hughes have decided to maintain a close friendship, according to an insider. They realized that they weren't spending enough quality time together, leading to their decision to end their marriage.

A few months later, Bush was romantically linked to soccer star Ashlyn Harris, starting in October 2023. A representative for Hughes expressed his support for Sophia's happiness and fulfillment.

Bush and Hughes have chosen not to make any public statements regarding their separation. However, Bush shared her reflections on the challenging year of 2023 as she welcomed the New Year. She emphasized the importance of self-care and personal growth, vowing not to settle for less and to fully embrace life. Bush declared, "No more playing small. No more neglecting myself. No more accepting less than I deserve."

She also spoke about reconnecting with her own body after feeling disconnected for a long time, describing it as a breathtaking and affirming experience.
