People who don't want children should not have them, no matter how much pressure they feel. Succumbing to society's pressure will only result in many disappointed people.

Trying to please many will only end up disappointing everyone. Put on your seatbelts; this is going to be a hell of a ride.

We frequently come across posts on the Relationship Advice and Am I The Asshole sections on Reddit that simply make us thankful for the lives we lead. We enjoy seeing complete strangers band together to support one another, but occasionally we also have a major schadenfreude rush (the experience of pleasure and self-satisfaction that comes from witnessing the troubles or humiliation of other people).

And this is one of those instances. In this case, the OP is a grandmother who had never really wanted to have children.

Its past is already complicated enough and can’t be fixed. We can totally understand that this woman didn’t want children, or grandkids (even a husband, judging by the “thankfully” comment she wrote), but she has them.

And it is not their fault she was forced by society to get married. And let’s be honest, being single and unmarried is not a modern invention.

She could’ve done it, but she succumbed to pressure. Maybe she is angry at herself and projecting that anger on her family.
