Jamie Paul Scanlon, also known as JPS, was born in 1977 in Weston-Super-Mare, a beach town near Bristol, UK. His creativity was evident from a young age.
Jamie was taught by his father, who spent a lot of time in prison and died when Jamie was 18 years old, and his outstanding paintings surprised teachers in school. He went to college after high school to study graphic design.
Unfortunately, the government ceased assisting, so Jamie could no longer pay for education and had to leave. He hit rock bottom in 2009, his friend George took him to see a stencil art exhibition in Bristol.
Recognizing how he'd squandered his life, he began cutting stencils from a rusted blade, a magazine cover, and a stolen can of high-pressure spray paint. However, he had yet to confront his addiction at that point, and he finally reached rock bottom when he was homeless and sleeping on the roof of an abandoned hotel.
He began to attend counseling and group meetings, and, as a result, he was able to turn his life around. Pursuing art, he refined his equipment and skills over time, evolving his style and technique.
JPS has a distinct style that includes pop culture and lifelike horror movie characters, clever language and excellent placement, enormous dinosaurs, and small micro stencils. His paintings can be found in places worldwide, including Norway, Spain, the United States of America, and Germany, where he is currently based.
Below are a few of his mind-blowing and unique paintings. Enjoy, and don't forget to share these with your friends and family.
