"He said that both photos have "different weight and value" and suggested I take my daughter's photo down and hang his instead."

Being a competitive person is generally regarded as a good thing and praised by virtually everyone. Competitive people tend to achieve more because they constantly push themselves and never rest until they reach the very top or at least get somewhat close to it.
Jealously is sometimes confused with competitiveness and tends to give a bad name to the whole concept. Some people mix their emotions with their competitiveness and the results are never pretty.
Competitiveness can also become toxic when you get competitive with the wrong people. For instance, some people compete with their children and refuse the idea of their children surpassing them in any shape or form.
A Redditor who goes by the username u/Throwaway624335 made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole subReddit where she explained how her husband kept insisting on removing his step-daughter's (OP's daughter) high school graduation photo and replacing it with his master's graduation photo.
The mother refused to do as the husband asked and decided to ask the Reddit community if she was in the wrong for standing her ground. Scroll down to check out the full Reddit post, and scroll a little further to read the comments from the original post.

Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeOP's husband refused to have his graduation photo next to his stepdaughter's.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe husband refused to change his mind, so OP decided to ask the Reddit community for help.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeHere's how the Reddit community reacted to u/Throwaway624335's post:
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe husband's behavior is strange and childish.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeSome people love bragging and putting others down.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeIt's not a competition, both photos belong there.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeShe's still OP's daughter and turning 18 doesn't change that.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeA "family achievement wall" is a lovely idea.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeHow petty of him.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThat's one way of dealing with this problem and sending a subliminal message.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe husband's mentality is not healthy at all.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**hole"Sometimes you just need to throw the whole man away, and start over..."
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThis can't be the first time OP has seen this behavior.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeA Master's degree shouldn't make you this insolent.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeWhat kind of logic is that.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeSometimes people concentrate on some really silly things.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThere might be a "difference in degree value and weight" but it doesn't make it less valuable.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeWhat an absolutely ridiculous thing to say out loud.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe husband is disrespectful and showed his true colors.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThat's much more than fragile masculinity.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe fact that this man kept on insisting on having his stepdaughter's photo and replacing it with his absolutely blows my mind. It's not a competition, you can both have achievements of different scales and still celebrate each other's success.
OP is definitely not the a-hole here. She should confront her man about this childish behavior and try to understand the real reason why he's being so stubborn and petty. If you enjoyed this story, make sure to check out similar content on our platform.
