Most of us scurry through our daily activities without taking in the lovely things we are surrounded by. "Just stop and observe" is an advice given to us today by Dutch illustrator Tineke Meirink, as a creative and playful way to interact with our surroundings.
With a selection of basic street items that she has given life to by adding a sparse digital illustration, her blog "Stop: Watch" captures readers' imagination. Both the artist's altered version and the initially uninteresting original picture are displayed on her website.
In essence, Tineke illustrates the contrast between the object's actual nature and her perception of it. This is how a pile of oranges transforms into a raucous throng of Holland sports supporters.
She even succeeded in creating a fun memory game for toddlers using her unusual artwork. Additionally, Tineke developed the "Imaginary Safari" marketing campaign with the Samsung France team, which offers a completely fresh view of Parisian life.
Meirink says that "there are always new things to discover when you look at the world a little closer. Open your eyes and see, inspiration is everywhere."
