Gal Gadot Hints About Her "Deliciously" Wicked Portrayal Of The Evil Queen In Snow White

The 1937 Disney animated film and the original Brothers Grimm fairy tale served as inspiration for the future live-action Snow White movie. The movie, which was directed by Marc Webb and written by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, offers a novel interpretation of the well-known tale.

Halle Bailey starred in the live-action rendition of The Little Mermaid, which was just recently made available by Walt Disney Studios. Their upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White has taken center stage at this point.

Gal Gadot, well-known for her portrayal of Wonder Woman, plays the Evil Queen, with Rachel Zegler playing the title role of Snow White. Gadot has voiced her enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the pleasure of portraying a Disney villain in a musical.

"I don't have a preferred type of character. I think it was so much fun to play the Evil Queen. There was something so delicious with this part because it's a fairy tale. It's the first Disney villain.
And because it's a musical, I could stretch my performance and make it so much more dramatic and so much more animated, that it was just simply delightful. I enjoyed it, and I changed my voice and I did all these different things. And it was just super fun, and I can't wait to watch it. I can't wait to see how you know how it all turns out."

There isn't much information available about the movie's plot, although it has already been stated that the seven dwarfs may not be there. Other than that, not much is known.

The controversy over Snow White's customary representation as a white princess in the animated version erupted as word of Rachel Zegler's Snow White casting spread. The criticism of the casting decision is similar to the debate over Halle Bailey's portrayal of a Black Ariel in The Little Mermaid.

Zegler was surprised by the opportunity, but she is excited about the ability to use this part to show off her acting skills.

Sean Bailey, President of Production at Walt Disney Pictures, shared information on the planned live-action remake of Snow White when it was first made public.

"We were given an incredible opportunity to discover what we wanted to be as a live-action team. We were given a lot of latitude to think about what that was. We thought if Iron Man and Thor and Captain America are Marvel superheroes, then maybe Alice, Cinderella, Mowgli, and Belle are our superheroes, and Cruella and Maleficent are our supervillains.

Maybe if there's a way to reconnect with that affinity for what those characters mean to people in a way that gets the best talent and uses the best technology, that could become something really exciting. It feels very Disney, playing to the competitive advantages of this label."

Marc Webb says that Rachel's extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts. "Her strength, intelligence, and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale."
