No two persons are the same. So when two people come together, they normally have some disagreements at some point in the relationship.
While compromise is necessary to resolve issues in a healthy relationship, sometimes a partner can feel the other is asking for too much. Nursingstud3nt, a Reddit user, took the AITA subreddit to ask whether it was wrong of her to ask her boyfriend to get an allergy shot so she could keep her cat.
Her boyfriend has difficulty breathing through the nose around cats. Nursingstud3nt and her boyfriend have been dating for two years and started living together two months ago.
She's considering bringing in her cat, which currently stays with her mom, because it's difficult for her mom to care for the cat and raise her niece. On the other hand, her dad, who has separated from her mom, lives with someone who doesn't like cats.
Nursingstud3nt asked her boyfriend to consider getting an allergy shot, covered by their insurance plan, once a month. However, her boyfriend doesn't want to do that and is upset because he feels she is prioritizing the cat over his health.
Is Nursingstud3nt asking for too much by telling her boyfriend to get an allergy shot? The AITA community had this to say on the matter.

u/Nursingstud3ntWhat Do You Think?
Cat allergies are caused by the proteins in a cat's saliva, urine, skin flakes, and dander. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, depending on an individual's sensitivity and the level of exposure to allergens.
Cat allergy symptoms may include a stuffy nose, itchy eyes, chest tightness, skin rash, and wheezing. Allergy shots may reduce or eliminate these symptoms.
