We're here again with another AITA thread post on Reddit that we often go through. These thread posts usually have tons of comments filled with lots of advice and perspectives for OP to look at and to go through after telling their situation.

These thread posts are sometimes the best place to go if you are looking to get unbiased opinions or advice from people who don't know you. So, with this being said, today we are looking at a post that was submitted by a mom who wants to know if she's in the wrong for not paying for her son's movie ticket after he said he wanted to see a different movie.

She was planning a family movie night, and then when her son decided he wanted to see something else, she told him that he had to pay for the ticket himself, to which he ended up just going with his family. She wants to know if she was in the wrong for this, as her son was upset.

People in the comments felt like there wasn't enough information because she didn't give a clear reason to why she did this.

Some people did say that OP didn't do anything wrong because she was trying to teach him a lesson and he chose his choice.

This person said that ESH because they both didn't communicate with each other about what they wanted or what the expectations were.

Some people speculated that she told him this because she knew he'd stay with them and see the movie that they were going to see instead of going his own way.

It does sound like she took it personally but maybe we need to hear a bit more from OP to see where her perspective really was.

A lot of people still said that she was TA because she should have just let him go instead of coercing him to stay with them.

Leave it to the Reddit commentors to look into more of a backstory and connecting pieces to a larger puzzle.

After reading this is sounds like maybe OP is instilling some financial responsibility and just trying to get him to understand this.

These comments put things into perspective when we are taking these votes into consideration and looking at the bigger picture.

On the other hand, some people said that OP's responses were perfect and they would have reacted the same.

It seems like the votes on this one were all over the place, which we see often in posts about parenting because nobody truly knows what they are doing. However, it seems like OP might have had better intentions than people thought that she did.
