Redditor Asks Her BF To Report A Family Member For Fraud After Discovering He’s Been Stealing Their Money
"He isn’t even planning on mentioning anything to the family member. He wants it to all go away and thinks this family member is going through a rough time."

Picking a life partner is a difficult task that most people have a hard time attaining. Even when you think that you have found "the one," people change over time and can also be excellent at pretending.
Some life events end up uncovering people's true nature or at least helping you understand them a whole lot better. After that, you can either take a gamble and hope for the best or consider it a wake-up call to move on and free yourself of that person.
Either way, humans are complicated creatures, and you can never be certain of their intentions. All you can do is wait and see what life throws your way.
A Redditor who goes by the username u/thr0w4w4ylife made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole subReddit where she explained how she recently discovered that one of her boyfriend's family members has been using his credit card and ruined his credit as a result. The user wanted her boyfriend to report his family member for fraud, but he decided just to ignore the problem entirely.
The r/AmItheA**hole community had a lot of different reactions to the user's post. Scroll down to check out the full Reddit post, and scroll a little further to read the comments from the original post.
Here's the original post by Reddit user u/thr0w4w4ylife:

OP and her boyfriend were shocked to discover that the credit card had been in-use this whole time.

The family member spent a lot of money on the card and has been doing so since 2019.

The boyfriend was as shocked as OP after this discovery.

OP and her boyfriend were left with two choices that could help them fix this situation.

The boyfriend refused to confront his family member about what they had done.

Here's how the Reddit community reacted to u/thr0w4w4ylife's post:

"He needs the fraud report evidence to fight the rest too"

The family member might have had permission to use the card.

OP suspects her boyfriend might have been aware of the "fraud."

The boyfriend will be the a-hole if he insists on not addressing the issue.

"You can't control what he does in the end, you can only control your actions."

OP is hoping this thread might help the BF see things more clearly.

The relative is probably well aware of the consequences of his actions.

OP eventually made a new post with an official Update about how things unfolded:

OP discovered some of her boyfriend's lies after digging deeper.

The boyfriend decided to "flee" to avoid confrontation.

OP found an alternative solution to the problem and ended up doing it by herself.

OP ended the post with an "Edit" to thank everyone for their support.

Here's how the Reddit community reacted to u/thr0w4w4ylife's update:

OP is now free from her boyfriend's family issues.

OP made the right call by freeing herself from her boyfriend. Similar issues could arise in the future, and he would also rather ignore them than face them.
