The nicest feeling in the world is to feel respected, wanted, and a part of something. We all have - at one point in time or even now - truly enjoyed friendships and other aspects of our lives where we are able to engage safely.
In fact, it can truly do wonders for our mental health. For those of us who find the world a little harder to navigate, the simple things can sometimes make a huge impact.
Even if someone didn't intentionally exclude you, it's acceptable to feel offended by it. Regardless of the circumstances, you'll probably feel a wide range of complicated emotions.
It will be easier for you to absorb these emotions and make decisions if you take some time to explore them. The OP and her elder sister are only 11 months apart, but they're really different.
She was always the prettier one, the more outgoing and popular one. She was always surrounded by friends and loved all things makeup and fashion, but the OP's more introverted and shy.
The OP has tried to be close to her sister, but it's never worked out because they're just too different. OP's sister has even resented her attempts for them to be closer, and it showed in her attitude, which their parents seemed to support.
The OP was always excluded, but when she finally found friends she clicked with, her parents wanted her to include her sister.

Reddit/CourageObjective1787OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the a-hole:
I told my family I don't see why my sister always has to be included but I don't and I also ranted a little about them all hating me and wanting me to be miserable. Maybe it was wrong to snap like that and maybe I was rude and shouldn't have said anything. I wasn't trying to fight really or maybe I was and maybe I'm an a-hole regardless.

Reddit/CourageObjective1787You may experience loneliness when you discover that your friends are not in the group chat at work, annoyance when coworkers meet for coffee every morning without inviting you or hurt when your sister decides not to invite you to her wedding. OP's sister clearly didn't want to include her in anything so she should be able to handle being excluded.
Redditors made their verdict and the OP was declared not the AH.
