Many people nowadays like naming their kids something ”unique” that stands out. The only problem is; most of these names do actually stand out but in a negative manner.
When you give your kids a name that only you and a few select people might find cool, you ensure that your kid will always stand out negatively for the rest of their life. You might think it's cool at the time, especially when something is trending, but your child will be the one suffering in the future.
Besides odd, obnoxious names, some people go one step further and pick a regular name but with a “unique” spelling. It never fails to make you cringe whenever you see these odd spellings out in the wild.
A Redditor who goes by the username u/dk-Cobain made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole subReddit where she explained how she told her sister the name she chose for her baby sounds like a dog's name. The user's sister had a negative reaction to the user's opinion about the name, so Op felt unsure whether she was in the wrong.
The Reddit community had a lot of different reactions to u/dk-cobain's post. Scroll down to check out the full Reddit post, and scroll a little further to read the comments from the original post.
