I think you would be surprised at how many adults don't know the difference between equality and equity, but imagine how much higher that number would be if you applied it to second graders?

That is exactly what this primary school teacher is trying to fix. After seeing a viral Tumblr post depicting the difference between the two social constructs, a Twitter user has shared her ideas about how she attempts to rectify this problem.

Maybe this is something you could apply in your own thinking? It certainly got me thinking about the different ways we should be handling problems as a society...

Personally, I have absolutely no idea how I would go about explaining this complicated concept to 2nd grade students, but I guess that's why Tumblr user @aloneindarknes7 is a teacher and I'm not. She goes on in this post to explain how using the humble Band-Aid she has figured out a way to explain this idea to even the simplest and youngest of minds.
