Woman Shares How Her Entitled Aunt Got Mad That She And Her Teen Kids Weren't Invited To Use Her New Kiddie Pool

A kiddie pool in the backyard can be a terrific way to keep your kids busy during the sweltering summer. A kiddie pool made of plastic or inflatable is a reasonably affordable way to have hours of fun at home.

In comparison to other types of backyard pools, these ones are often smaller and simpler to set up and take down. Some also include inflatable water slides, or you can install a little separate slide so your youngster can enter the kiddie pool.

Larger backyard pools are subject to many homeowner associations' (HOAs') rules, but since inflatable and plastic kiddie pools aren't permanent structures, these rules typically don't apply to them. The original poster of today's story got one for her daughter and the niece.

The reason why OP's niece was included is because she babysits her a lot, so obviously, the pool is for her as well. Now comes the OP's entitled aunt, who believes she and her kids should be included in the pool fun, too.

"We never get invited over like SIL and her family. It shows you don’t care about actual family," says OP's aunt.

Mind you, the SIL being talked about is the OP's husband's sister, and the OP literally babysits for them five days a week. This means that they come over a lot.

The OP also made sure to point out that her SIL has literally helped them in so many ways that the aunt's request isn't even up for consideration.

The OP revealed this piece of information somewhere in the comments

She personally messaged me. Didn’t comment on my post. But I haven’t responded her to her since her last remark about me being “selfish” towards her. She’s messaged me asking for all kinds of favours and being passive aggressive about the shit I buy for myself and my daughter.

Some Redditors say that OP's aunt knows she has alienated herself so she's now resorting to guilt-tripping and manipulation instead of just being a cool person that other people want to have around. The lack of self-reflection by some people is really mind-boggling and redditors pointed it out.

It's the OP's house, and she can do whatever she wants with her space, including who should use her pool.
