Employees Tell 13 Stories About The Most Insulting Holiday "Bonuses" Their Bosses Ever Gave Them

by Paul

Many people associate Christmas with giving, but for others, it is all about giving as little as possible. It is the best time of the year for most people because of the bonuses and gifts they receive and give out.

Unfortunately, it’s also the worst time of year for some people, who are given both insulting and inappropriate gifts from their bosses. But hey, you can’t win them all.

Hope these stories relieve some anger and stress if you're a victim of this discrimination. Because there's no way these absurd stories won't make you grateful for your current situation.

The holiday season is in full swing, and for many companies, the annual bonus is on its way. For some, the manager's annual "stocking stuffer" is a welcomed surprise.

Others say the gift is a slap in the face because it's so little compared to what other employees get or what they've earned. Of course, there are times when a company is struggling, and bonuses are not exactly what they used to be but you should not receive a bonus that is so lousy you wish they had not even bothered.

These funny "gifts" should never have been sent out at all. These are some of the worst Christmas bonuses anybody has ever received...

Using your employees as an unpaid gift buying service is an insult that’s been sadly all-to-common in the corporate world in recent years. While these stories of abuse don’t necessarily reveal anything you didn’t already know, they are a good reminder to treat your employees right during the holidays–at least if you want to keep them happy and increase productivity.

From a monetary and practical standpoint, most of these presents are essentially worthless. Bottom line: if you give an employee a present, it should be as well-thought-out as if you were purchasing it for someone else.

Keep these stories in mind the next time you present a Christmas bonus or award to your staff, and make sure it is something that will make them grin rather than make them sad.
