Lady Gets Her Boyfriend Super Annoyed For Throwing Out The Ripped Pieces Of His Dear Blanket

Human beings frequently form emotional bonds with the things we own. They can be the priceless acquisitions we've made, nostalgic relics from our past, or simply commonplace items with special value for us.

All these belongings can have profound emotional significance to us. Taking into account self-storage facilities also involves taking into account our emotional attachment to our possessions.

Believe it or not, there is a psychology of self-storage of things that could be regarded as trash by another person. Our feelings affect how we relate to our belongings and whether or not we choose to use self-storage facilities or just keep it lying around.

More than just tangible objects, our belongings have the power to symbolize our memories, identities, and sense of self. Things that are emotional or have been handed down through the centuries frequently have sentimental value attached to them.

The OP brought her boyfriend and his dear blanket to the Reddit community. Apparently, the boyfriend has had a particular blanket since he was a toddler.

According to her, this blanket is falling apart after 20+ years of her boyfriend sleeping with it. Whenever a piece of it tears off, he puts it on his bedside table and piles it there.

As time went on, there was more fabric on that table than on the blanket. The OP was cleaning the house and threw the fabric scraps away.

Her boyfriend wasn't so happy about it, and you can read the full story below.

From a Redditor who is so mad they hope the OP gets dumped

There was zero reason to throw this out. You could have just as easily collected the scraps into a container of some kind to save for him and support him keeping these pieces while at the same time clearing the clutter. You did this specifically because you have no respect for him, his feelings and even trying to see from his perspective. Frankly I hope he breaks up with you.

Some Redditors say that the OP could have used the pieces to make a new blanket or taken it to a seamstress who may have fixed it. Alternatively, she could have just placed the fragments inside a bag so he could still have possession of it.

But without his knowledge or approval, the OP made the most permanent and nuclear choice which was wrong. You can't just discard a comfort item like trash just because you don't like it.
