15 Pet Owners Imagine What Their Cats And Dogs Must Have Felt When They First Brought Them Home

"I will remember this the next time you reach out to me about your dead ex girlfriend"
The thought that our cherished pets are passing on is something that pet parents dread, but it's vital to remember that our pets don't feel the same way. While they will undoubtedly sense any feelings of dread we may have, they don't fear the act of dying itself.
For them, dying is as natural as living; it "just happens." Therefore, it is our responsibility to provide our pets with the solace and certainty they require for their own peace of mind.
By giving them a cozy area to rest, we try to make them as comfortable as we can. Even though it could seem as though your adventure has ended once you have said your goodbyes and attended to your pet's final needs, it doesn't mean you'll forget about them.
Pet parents are encouraged to take time to grief their loss as some people discard their own sadness because they believe it to be "silly" to be mourning the loss of a pet but that's not true. The OP in today's story is someone who was on the verge of losing his dog.
The poor dog had "cancer, is blind, deaf and essentially, a walking corpse." The OP reached out to his friend just so he could have someone to console him but his friend ended up turning it into a debate.
This was someone he was always there for when his girlfriend died. Keep scrolling to read the full story below.
And the comments roll in...
When a beloved dog dies, it's important to give yourself space to grieve, and don't be afraid to reach out to people who can help you cope with it. This is what the OP did, only for the friend to be mean to him.
However, we consider our pets to be significant family members, and their loss is grieved just like a human loss. So be kind to yourself and you'll pull through.
