People Share 30 Of The Dumbest Lies They Used To Believe When They Were Young And They're Too Relatable

Every parent wanted their children to behave well. However, it is not easy raising one, what more explaining complicated things to children, discussing why they need to do certain things and why they should not.

Especially if the family is outside of their homes, traveling, going on a vacation, or just visiting a friend's or relative's house, it is every parent's horror when their kids do things that would harm others or cause chaos in other people's property. Considering the nature of children, parents usually come up with strategies on how to deal with the possibility of their kids misbehaving.

With this, Redditor  AfterIsIsIsIsIsWas asked, "What were the dumbest lies you believed when you were a kid?" The question led people to share what were the things they thought were real, only to find out they were just being lied to by the people around them, especially their parents.

The post reached 49.9K likes and 22.3K comments which just proves how common adults use lies to control children's behavior when they want to do something dangerous or annoying things. These lies range from having a watermelon grow inside your stomach when you swallow its seeds, the button or tooth fairy, and even how donuts have holes because cops were shooting them, depending on how creative each parent can be.

Looking back, it's funny how children can be so gullible in whatever adults are saying. However, as much as some of these are hilarious, it's better to explain things in a simple and honest manner as children can understand in their own way because lies can also lead to danger.
