Dog Steals Redditor's Inhaler, Ruins His Date By Giving Him An Asthma Attack
"It was all fun and games until the dog sniffed the inside of my pocket and took off running with my inhaler."

One might say that finding a partner is one of the hardest things in life. Some get lucky to find the one early in their life, and some go through a lot of things before ending up with them.
Getting to know a person starts with dates–in many unfortunate cases, the whole getting-to-know-you phase ends on the first one. You see them, you don’t click well, and that’s that.
But, when the date calls back after that first meeting, you know that there would be a second one. And the next date can be set as early as the next day–exciting.
OP here meets a girl at the beach early in the morning, one that he went on a date with the day before. It was on that first date that they parted ways and agreed to see each other again.
However, this whole story is under the TIFU subreddit, so don’t expect it to go oh so well. After all, OP, themself, says: Today I Fucked Up.
And even though he almost had his shot at continuing this series of dates–and almost got sent to the hospital due to an asthma attack, the date didn’t end as planned. Is it entirely because of OP, or are they just not meant to be together?
Here's what happened:
RedditThe first order of business. OP is trying to be anonymous.
RedditThis is the start–or the continuation–of OP’s unfortunate love story, of sorts. He met up with a girl he just first dated yesterday.
RedditHe shows up, knowing that the agenda of the second date was an early morning run, which he is not physically up for. However, it’s not just her he ends up seeing on the beach–her hellhound was with her.
RedditAfter their morning run, OP sits on the sand to catch his breath, and the dog was very enthusiastic with him. OP tries to score more brownie points which leads to his downfall.
RedditThe dog takes OP’s inhaler from his pocket and gets away with it. Maybe due to panic, he runs after it–you know this isn’t going to end well.
RedditHe realizes he’s having an asthma attack, and the date managed to save him. It was bad.
RedditThe aftermath was not good either. OP calls off of work, and the girl didn't want to know him more because her ex was asthmatic (she had bad memories with the ex having bad asthma attacks).
RedditIn conclusion. OP lost.
RedditHere is the whole run down of the story, just in case you're too lazy. An accurate summary.
RedditA dog how-to for noobs. Try again next time, OP!
RedditDon't chase–the dog either think you're scary or you're playing with them. Either way, it is still going to run, and it is faster than you.
RedditThe girl should have said something about the dog. And OP should have stopped running after it.
RedditDoggy body language. Best to know a bit of basic dog trivia.
RedditProper pet responsibility must be implemented. Don't expect non-dog owners to know how to interact with dogs as an alternative–is this good advice?
RedditPlease keep your dog on a leash and keep them from bothering other people. It is rude.
RedditHere is another tip about the dog incident. Best wishes to OP.
RedditIs sacrifice–or tolerance–a good thing to do just to score brownie points? And is having asthma a good reason to be dumped?
RedditIt's not you, OP, it's her. Even though it could've been a safety move, she should've trained her dog better.
RedditDog handbook for noobs–here is how you do it. This can be intimidating for non-dog owners, but this is just a bit of advice.
RedditVery convenient. Maybe she has an issue with you chasing her dog.
RedditGood riddance? This would be better than having something terrible happen.
RedditIf it's meant to be, it will be. As for OP and their date's relationship status, it's obviously not.
It seems like this whole incident of OP fucking up had to happen, seeing as to how and why the girl decided to stop seeing him. Everything happens for a reason, after all.
