Dog Reunited With His Owner After 8 Months Can't Believe It's Her

While Janna Berger spent eight long months training for the army, one of the hardest things for her was being away from her beloved dog, Murphy.

"I thought about Murphy every day," Berger said. "Being away from him was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do."

And the feeling was mutual. Whilst Murphy was being well taken care of by Janna's parents back home, he never forgot his best friend.

"In the first letter my mom sent me, she told me about how every day since I’d left, Murphy waited outside the door to my room for me to come back," Berger said.

And finally, after waiting what seemed to be an eternity, the pair were reunited this week.

Berger posted a heartwarming video online which captured the sweet moment.

For the first few moments, Murphy seemed to be confused, and he didn't appear to believe it was actually Janna.

It wasn't until he had a good sniff that he realized who she was, and he was so happy!

"I had no idea Murphy would react the way he did," Berger said.

"When he didn’t recognize me at first, I was so heartbroken. The happiest moment of my life was when he finally figured out it was me."

Janna is now at university and planning to move into a new home she can share with Murphy.

"He's been the light of my life for over three years now, and I’m hoping to have many more with him by my side."
