She spent days on a soggy cardboard box in San Francisco just because of her deformity.
Sad to say, many people say that they love animals but would actually cringe at the sight of some that have deformities. In shelters, some people would often adopt the best-looking dog, and the ones who are already visibly aging or are suffering from abnormalities get ignored because unfortunately, they also make their appearances into account.
People who actually care would consider each and every single one of these animals who have been waiting days just to meet the parent that suits them and be adopted into their forever homes. And it's really heartbreaking to see some people completely disregard them as if they don't even deserve an ounce of attention.
That being said, even puppies that are born with abnormalities get treated as an outcast by their supposed family of hoomans. It happens with human babies, unfortunately—those who are born with deformities seem to be cast as the black sheep in the family just because of how they look.
Unfortunately for animals that belong in this spectrum, though, most of them just get thrown out and left to fend for themselves on the streets, without the guarantee that they would even survive. It's heartbreaking that some people are actually heartless enough to leave them out to die just because they don't like how they look.
That's exactly what happened with a particular chihuahua named Daffodil. Read on to find out her story!
People that passed by would see the "adorable puppy" inside, check her, but then cringe at the sight of her birth defect so Daffodil just ends up inside the box once again.
But thank the heavens, because, after just a few weeks of being loved and cared for, Daffodil recovered and became a very affectionate and active puppy. It seems like she has no idea that she is actually disabled, and just simply wants to be loved by her caretakers.

Fortunately, Daffodil has now been officially adopted by Olivia, one of her caretakers in the SPCA. It's guaranteed that Daffodil would be living her best life from now on as Olivia's baby princess!
