Man Finds Out His Parents Carried Out DNA Test On His Son Behind His Back, Bans Them From His Son's Life

We hear more and more about child support and custody disputes as celebrity culture grows and those superstars live out their lives in the tabloids. Now, a large portion of the general population purchases DNA tests for a number of reasons, some of which are less obvious than others.

In addition, there are extra life events that motivate people to obtain a DNA test. There are times when people need to be able to prove their own or another person's parentage with actual scientific evidence.

Maternity is typically simple to determine. The woman who gave birth to a kid was clearly that child's gestational, genetic, and legal mother before surrogate motherhood became conceivable, and this still holds true in the vast majority of situations today.

Unfortunately, it might be difficult to determine paternity. But then, OP's parents went too far in their quest to know if their grandson was truly theirs.

When the OP introduced his girlfriend to his parents, they voiced their disapproval of her. OP's parents think that his girlfriend is only using him to achieve her American dream.

After OP's girlfriend accepted his marriage proposal, they asked for both their families' blessings. Her parents were happy for them, but OP's parents were gutted and refused to give their blessing.

When they finally reached out to the OP, they secretly carried out a DNA test on his kid, and the OP was livid when he found out.

One redditor made an observation saying:

Depending on how they went about testing your kid they could be in serious trouble. They would’ve needed parental permission in order to have his sample tested and most labs wouldn’t have tested him without it.

Scientists nearly always determine fatherhood by going backward, from the child to the putative parent, to determine the true nature of the relationship. OP trusted his wife, and his parents had no right to carry out a DNA without consulting him first. The grandparents overstepped a huge boundary, and many redditors believed they would not trust them with their children ever.

The OP was declared not the AH in the story.
