When two people decide to start a family together, no one tells them their differences will become more evident and annoying over the years. That fact is hidden among the lines, and a couple discovers it on their own when they start to have issues because of their differences.

Naturally, the first thing a couple can do is to try to talk them out and compromise. But if that doesn't work, they might become irritated by one another's actions and eventually start thinking about the divorce.

Recently, a Reddit user shared a story about his and his wife's different perspectives that seemed ridiculous at first but caused them so much tension later. The OP and his wife have been married for almost eight years.

They live in an old house with small stairs, which is convenient for tripping. His wife has a habit of leaving things on these steps, which the OP finds dangerous.

Despite the OP's multiple requests, his wife didn't change her routine. This resulted in the OP tripping once and injuring himself.

Their 6-year-old daughter also expressed concerns and later had a fall herself. After the birth of their son, the OP warned his wife again of the dire consequences if he fell while holding their child.

However, the final straw came when the OP tripped over a vacuum cleaner his wife had left at the staircase's base while holding their son. This incident sparked a heated conflict in front of her visiting family, and the OP pushed his wife on the stairs to clean them up.

Her family intervened, and the OP told them to leave. Following the conflict, the OP's wife raised the possibility of divorce, centering on the OP's aggressive behavior without acknowledging her own actions that led up to the incident.

Reddiors told the OP that his wife was being extremely neglectful. Her lack of understanding of the problem caused them multiple injuries over the two and a half years.

Hopefully, they'll try couple therapy before definitely deciding on whether they should get a divorce. But she can't continue acting like this.
