A Reddit OP's friend received a distressing message from another friend. She shared their controversial exchange on Facebook, and it received a lot of attention.

A friend, let's call her Sarah for clarity, messaged Ashley asking if she could pay for a hotel room for her and her kids. Sarah said she was divorcing her husband.

Ashley agreed to help Sarah but asked why she decided to leave her husband. Sarah explained that she was tired of being married to a broke husband who worked two jobs.

She complained about how she couldn't afford to go to a salon to color her hair or fix her nails. Sarah said she was tired of cooking every night because they couldn't afford to order in.

Their planned family vacation to Florida had to be canceled because it was out of their budget. Sarah whined to Ashley that her husband's inheritance was completely gone.

She wanted someone to pamper her. At that point, Ashley thought her friend was joking and told her to sleep it off.

Sarah made it clear that she was serious about the divorce. Ashley couldn't believe the audacity of her friend and called her out for not appreciating her husband's hard work.

Ashley told Sarah how ridiculous her thinking is. Leaving her husband of 14 years because she can't regularly go to the salon is immature.

She asked Sarah what she contributed to their relationship and household. Her husband provides for them by juggling two jobs and Sarah should be grateful for that. Ashley told Sarah her house is open for her children, but she won't lend her any money to teach her a lesson.

Sarah blocked Ashley for not siding with her. The divorce will proceed, so Sarah should be happy.

Reality won't be kind to this woman

She wants all of life's privileges without having to work for them. Her husband who is actually trying is somehow the bad guy from where she's standing.

What kind of online videos or reality shows is Sarah watching for her to think divorcing her husband will magically improve her income and perceived social status?

Some people see big houses on social media and covet it. They fail to appreciate what they already have is so much better than having nothing at all.

Is it frustrating to not have much to spend on yourself whenever you want to? Sure, but they have four children and that comes with a lot of sacrifices which her husband has been making — Sarah will make those sacrifices as well soon enough.
