Mental health is becoming one of the main reasons some employee leave their jobs. Factors such as unsustainable conditions and overwhelming work play a huge role in the prevalence of this phenomenon.
Employees across all organizational levels now face mental health challenges. This proves and supports the notion that all of us can be affected by mental health challenges.
Out of necessity, investments in mental health support have been made by companies, but a true culture change has never been achieved. Employers have made many resources available for their employees since the pandemic, which includes company-wide mental health days, mental health training, and time off.
A Redditor who goes by the username u/Absolut_Failure made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole subReddit where they explained how one of their employees recently got promoted, failed to show up for work, and only called after her shift ended. The user gave their employee two options: termination or demotion, which the employee didn't take that well, so Op decided to consult with the Reddit community.
The r/AmItheA**hole community had a lot of different reactions to the user's post. Scroll down to check out the full Reddit post, and scroll a little further to read the comments from the original post.
